Show Big Time at Smith field. At Smlthlleld last Friday the residents resi-dents celebrated in gieat stjlc. It was a May day celebration and, of couise, everjone put on the best clothespin! did all in his or her power to make the affair a time of enjoj ment. Tho band was out; Miss Douglas wasenthioncd as queen; a beautiful bevy of joung girls acted as maids of honor; a dance was given In the grovo there for the young; a baseball game was plaj cl In the afternoon; and the festivities were concluded by a grand ball at night. The baseball game In the afternoon was between Logan and Smlthlleld. The two teams began by making runs in the first two Innings but after that, steady work made tlm game Interesting. Interest-ing. Logan had the best of It owing to the practice they have had. And then they had a very good pitcher who struck out nearly every other man that faced him.
