Show Social Event. - "Military Euchre" furnished a most delightful evening at t'he home of Mr. and Mrs. Allan M. Fleming, Saturday, the affair being given In honorof their son, Mr. licit Fleming, who was at home fiom the I'nheislty of Wyoming. Wyom-ing. The military character of the occasion was carried out to perfection In the artistic dccoiations of the looms, small tt.igs being placed at con-cnient con-cnient places, and a magnificent specimen spec-imen draped.on the parlor walls. Asters As-ters also lent their pel fume and beauty to 'the occasion. There were nine tables designated as foits, for which the guests engaged in friendly rlalry, tho idea being to bring to the toit as many lecrults in the shape of niina--tuiettagsas It was possible to win. For novelty the game was made progresslc antl played as In high-five, bidding for the trumi), and getting ciedit only for the bid when winning. The game was most successful and thoroughly enjoyed. Capt. Stjer, Arthur Ar-thur P. Stover, Jennie Ellason and Hilda Ellason, by their skillful onslaught on-slaught upon the enemy, captured 28 Hags for Foit Porter, and won the first prize, four handsome silk Mags, splcn-dedly splcn-dedly mounted. Messrs Herschel Ilul-len Ilul-len and Geoige F. Thatcher and Mrs. Preston and Miss Nora El iason were awaided the consolations, small drums tilled with 'goodies." Late In the evening dainty refieshments weie served by Mrs. Willard Langton, Miss Chamberlain and Mr. Bert Fleming. Mr. A. M. Fleming also delighted the quests w 1th a number of selections on the pianola. |
