Show LEWISTON'S ! OPERA HOUSE To be Formally open-1 ed next Tuesday With "from Sumpter to Appomattox' On Tuesday evening, the ltlth, Lewlston's new opera house will be formerly opened by a homo talent company In the thrilling war drama, "From Sumpter to Appomattax." The affair is given In the Interest of the ward Sunday School and from reports re-ports It Is hardly doubted that Lewis-ton's Lewis-ton's new play house will be tilled to overflowing. The production is In the hands of Mr. Tbco. Fiance, stake and ward chorister and director of the opera house orchestra. It Is said that the play has been "worked up" until It Is In most excellent shape and that Individual members or the cast will prove a most agreeable surprise. Following Is the IJAST Capt. Farnesworth gives to that charactei all that, any amateur could be expected to do. and Is little short of professional. Mr. Stephenson was at one lime offered an opportunity to take up stage work as a profession, but bis natural modesty Inclined him otherwise. In the role of Farnesworth Farnes-worth he assumes three different disguises dis-guises and appears as three dllfeient characters most acceptably.; The play Is a thrilling story of war times and tilled with startling climaxes, climax-es, thrilling love scenes, and has a wholesome moral. The opera house orchestra composed compos-ed of Theo France, cornctlst and director: David Egbert, violinist; George liawllns, clarinet; and Mrs. Parley F. Smith, pianist, will furnish muslu between acts. Such a happy combination as a good show well played on a line new stage of large capacity and new scenery should provide a most pleasant evening even-ing for all who attend. |
