Show The Idea of appointing a "business men's committee" to conduct affairs pertaining to the municipal light plant, as suggested by "the only," Is ridiculously absurd. The council is supposed to be a "business men's committee" com-mittee" elected to conduct all the affairs of the city, and in that body arc some of Logan's most capable bus!-ncsincn.' bus!-ncsincn.' The very suggestion that that body will permit politics to tig-ute tig-ute In this light matter to the serious disadvantage of the city is an insult to both political panics represented in that body. We believe thateveiy t man in the council Is anxious to do his duty and that duty requires that he shall use his best judgment in tnc selection of a manager for the light plant. There may be honest differences differ-ences of opinion as to who among those suggested would prove the best .man, and Tin: Reitiii.ican Is hardly ready to cry politics If that man proves to be a Democrat. There arc capable men In both parties and It should and will be the endeavor of all to select the man who seems best litted for the work. This Is an experiment experi-ment and the judgment of the council may finally be found at fault, but the necessity of a "business men's committee" com-mittee" Is not yet apparent. |
