Show TO REPUBLICANS. Since the llrst issue of this paper in September up to tho present time, there has been a series of complications complica-tions and unfavorable circumstances surrounding its continued publication that have not only tried tho patience of men who have been interested in it, but it has tried their staying qualities as well. It Is not our disposition to relate our troubles to the public in general, but to tho Republicans of this county wo have somewhat to say. In tho first place, it seems that many of the G. O. P. do not appear to understand what tho maintenance of this paper means to the Republican party. They have been snowed under, spat upon and had it rubbed in so long and so often that in their ilrst Mush of victory tho party as a whole seems to bo bewildered. There seems to bc a feeling of apathy, a failure to grasp tho reins properly, a lack of knowledge as to how the reins may be manipulated to tho best advantage and to the eternal glorification and success of tho party. Tin: Rkpui-m-cANhasluid thlsapathctlcsplrltmanl-fested thlsapathctlcsplrltmanl-fested toward it, and wo cannot but feel that this indifference towards us Is not as it should be. The valuo to any party of a first-class, live up-to-date paper is hard to estimate, but wo know that successful politicians outside out-side of Utah recognize tho local paper as tho most potent factor In tho political polit-ical situation. Although tho Logan Journal has never been all that a newspaper in this county could and should be, yet there is not a Democrat In tho county who fv lis to rccognlzo its wortli to tho paity in days gono bye, and there aro few Republicans who have not felt Its sting. There Is no reason why tho Republican party of Cache county should not have a better paper by far, a paper with an inllucnco that reaches Into every corner of this county, and a paper that could do great things for tho party in Its times of need. |
