Show Preston. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Margetts, who for many jears -.run the Cottage hotel, have now retired from the business. The) have erected a house Immediately Immediate-ly north of tlic onp used for the hotel, where they expect to live In quiet. The hotel building Is being remodeled and will be let to tenants. The people of Preston anticipate having a glorious time here on July Fourth. A committee consisting of J. (1. Smith, Joseph Davis and Sol Hale have been chosen to formulate plans and make all necessary arrangements arrange-ments for a big time. Mis. W. J. Harncs, of Ogdcn, has been visiting witli her sister. Mrs. C. J. SiKingbcrg, the past ten days. The Stake convention of the Sunday school oillceis and teachers was held in the Academy last Sunday. The four wards of Preston met together to-gether in tlic Academy last Sunday and held memorial services in honor of the late Apostle Abraham O. Woodruff. The speakers were L. K. Hatch, of Logan, and Prof. John Johnson. They both spoke veiy touchinglv of the love and esteem In which the deceased was held by all who knew him. The Hlshoprlc of the First ward presided. Mr. and Mrs. James Gcddes, of Logan, Log-an, weic In Preston last week looking alter their Interests heie and visiting with their relatives. Assessor 1. II. Nash was in Preston list week. Pror. Hrhnhall has now completed his pavilion. Ho gave a dance therein Saturday night which proved to be a success. Mr. KdwinCiockett went to Salt Lake on business Monday, in tlic Interest In-terest of Ciockett & Son. |
