Show That Brossard Case. The case of W. II. Bcntly vs. A. Brossard et al, which occupied the attention at-tention of Judgo Hart's corrrt all last week, was given to the jury at noon Saturday. At !i p. m. the Jury was equally divided, so reported, and Judge Hart discharged them. This leaves tho mutter open for another trial, but the plaintiffs have decided to wait over until the September term. This particular case is one of eight or nine In which Brossard Is sued for Indebtedness to miners and others in Nevada. They furnished certain amounts of money under contract and were to share In the profits of the mine when It became a paying proposition. Brossard Bros-sard contracted heavy debts, the mine failed to show up properly, and the parties In Tuscaiora learning that others had furnished him money nre suelng them as co-partners. Judge Hart ruled that the contract between Brossard and the local capitalists did not constitute a co-partnership, so the Jury was to decide on tho evidence as to whether the actions of Brassard's backers' hero Indicated such a thing. The Jury divided equally as stated above. This case will furnish some remarkable remark-able developments yet. |
