She wakened her husband and asked him to open the window. She saw him rise and attempt at-tempt to movo toward a window, but he staggered and fell to tho floor unconscious. un-conscious. Mme. Zola fainted at the same moment and was therefore unable un-able to give the alarm. There were rumors of suicide but nothing has developed to substantiate such belief. |
