The new Mrs. Pomeroy Is a granddaughter of her husband's first wlfo's sister. Pomeroy In 1838, when twenty years old, married mar-ried Nellie White of Hartford. A year Inter she died, and Pomeroy wedded a Kingston young woman named Piatt. When tho gold fever of 1840 sent many mon to California Pomeroy and his vrifo were among twenty Meridcn people peo-ple who chartered a boat out of New Haven and sailed around the lloru to the Pacific coast. During the voyago Mrs. Pomeroy died and was buried at sea. A young woman aboard tbc vessel ves-sel attracted Pomeroy's attention and another marriage soon followed. From California Pomeroy went to Japan, and there his third wifo dlcit. Returning to this country, hu again married and came east. He settled in Now York City, w)iere six wives fell to his lot.
