Show Smithfield SMITHFIELD, May 6. A delightful gathering occurred on Krldny night at tho central school when tho seventh grade class, with Messrs. and Mes-dames Mes-dames Ivan Egbert, John II. Peterson and James Cragun as Invited guests, gave a program consisting of songj, music, reciting and games. Master Floyd Miles presided at tho piano, Miss Malvlna acted bb master of ceremonies, Miss Rebecca Iloskelley as chorister and Miss Clara Ilurgcss as president of the class. A danlty luncheon was served by tho class organization. Much credit is duo the class for the orderly manner In which they conducted con-ducted this pleasant social nffnlr. Mayor Merrill was conducting the Stntc Engineer and Mr. McLaughlin through our main street todny to decide de-cide upon tho plans and steps to be taken to properly grndo Main street, put In cement bridges and culverts. The State appropriation asked for with tho aid of volunteer men with teams to haul gravel and plow, and men to rake and shovel ought to make our main street a place of beauty beau-ty and a joy to all our people. Messrs. King Homer and William Merrill, are rejoicing over a visit from tho stork. ' " A call was made for tho members of the Alumni association to meet on Friday night, but not enough people responded to fill the offices. Another meeting wns held yesterday and the committees chosen. The, banquet and ball will be held on Tuesday, May 11. |
