Show Delegates Elected District Convention ym 1 HYRUM. November 23. Last Saturday Sat-urday evening a non-partisan school primary was held at which twenty delegates were elected to attend the district convention to be held here Nov. 27th at 2 p. m. for the purpose of nominating one trustee for a position posi-tion on the Cache county board of education. There were over one hundred hun-dred persons piesent at tho primary The following were elected delegates to the. convention: Henry Jensen, A, A Allen, lver Nielsen. Louisa, Bradley, Brad-ley, Iver Bradley, Christian Christiansen, Christian-sen, Jennie Christiansen, Hans P. Christiansen, Alma G. Wilson, O. P. Olsen, Anna M. Ralph, N.A. Jeppsen, John Mldglcy, Joseph C. Anderson, Robert Baxter, Charles C. Petersen, Ernest Petersen, H. H. Petersen, Sr., Theodore Petersen, Walborg Petersen, Peter-sen, H. H. Petersen, Jr4, Joseph E. Petersen, George Stanton, Esther Wilson and Vcrner Nielsen. The last five named are alternates The delegates dele-gates were pledged to work for a Hy-rum Hy-rum man as trustee. It Is very likely that Charles 0. Peterson will be the man, as parties who were elected on the delegation were working hard for Mr. Petersen prior to the primary. There were several unpleasant features fea-tures occurcd In the primary which has resulted In some dissatisfaction, and it is quite likely that there will bo two candidates to vote for at tho coming school claclion. Last Thursday eveulng thoIIrum High School gave a very enjoyable en-tertasnracnt en-tertasnracnt at the High School building. build-ing. An excellent program was rendered rend-ered after which freo refreshments were served by the students, The affair af-fair was a credit to tho students and to Prof, Nelson, the teacher. Tho High School is a blesslug to our city and ought to receive tho full support of tho people here. The Stake Religion Class conven tlou was held here yesterday at 2 p.m. in the tithing office. An excellent prearranged program was rendered In a creditable manner. Elder Joseph W, Summorhajsof Salt Lake City, was In attendance. A general meeting meet-ing was held In tho Stako houso In the oenlng at which tho remainder of tho program was carried out. The Third ward meeting houso Is rapidly ncaring completion. During this week a Relief Society bazar will be held In the basement. The baby show comes off Wednesday evening John H. Glbbs and Peter L. Petersen Peter-sen have nearly completed additions to the residences,. Mr. Garr being the contractor. There Is still considerable typhoid fever In our city, but most of those afflicted are doing as well as can be expected. Dr. Cutler is now permanently located lo-cated here, Dr. Cantrel having gone to New -York, where he will locate. The building of stock jardsat the depot Is now completed. This Improvement Improve-ment Is appreciated by shipper's of cattle and sheep |
