Show Like all public servants the newspaper news-paper gets Its full share of criticism. Subscribers do not hesitate to And fault either with the utterances of tho paper or the manner In which it Is delivered at the house. Naturally they cannot Influence tho first, though they often think they can by stopping their subscription and borrowing their neighbor's paper, but it is within tho power of all to help the second. The paper Is left at each house, but in nine cases out of ten, there Is no protected place in which to deposit It and It blows about the yard or porch all night and often gets lost. Then, of course, tho management Is to blame and abuse pours In over the 'phone. This could all bo remedied If each subscriber sub-scriber were to have a covered box for post matter Into which the delivery boy might put the paper. This Is only ono of the numbcrous little convenient, con-venient, labor-saving devices that every man should have about his house and that very few do. It Is scarcely to be expected of people who let weeds grow In their back and front yards, whose sidewalks In spring are Impassable mud, and whoso refuse heaps arc the most prominent feature In the local scenery, but u shred of neatness exists In every man and we hope It will find Us first expression In a letter box for the reception of Tiik ItKl'UllMCAN. |
