Show A Giant Apple Tree. At Cheshire, Conn., stands an apple tree which is known to be 190 years old, and is believed to bo much older than that. The trunk Is 17 Vi feet In circumference near tho ground, and the height of the tree 'Is about 70 feet. There are eight large branches. Five of theso bear fruit ono year, and tho other three the next year. Ono year this remarkable tree yielded 130 bushels bush-els of apples. The tree is regular In form, and the circle shaded by its branches is 130 feet In diameter. |
