The recent spring zephyrs have started baseball talk, some of the"fan" proposing that a county league be organized. or-ganized. Wellsville and Smlthfleld have already discussed the matter and arc heartily In favor of any arrangement arrange-ment looking toward ascrlesof games. Wellsville Is rather planning on strengthening the very strong team of last year and will go Into the fight for the championship. Smlthfleld always could put up a good article ot ball, and 'tis said Richmond wants to get Into the game. Some of the Logau sports are casting about for material and if the outlook is at all good will probably prob-ably Join with Wellsville, Srnlthtlcfd' and Richmond In forming a county league. This dope comes largely from Hon. Wm. Settle, pitcher of International Inter-national note, late from Preston. Mr. Settle is now tenor singer and chief whistler at The Republican office, but finds time to keep track cf doings ,io the baseball world.
