Show i Conference at Smithfield SMITHFIELD, Feb. 7. The regular quarterly conference of the Benson Stake was held here on Saturday and Sunday last. It was estimated that the largest crowd ever assembled in our stake conference was present. Apostle McKay, President Ilnrt, and W. It. Ridges of Weber stake were present, as were also our stake presidency, Supt. McCarrey of S. S'.,Supt. llawlins of the Religion Re-ligion classes, and representatives of most all the quorums and organizations. Apostle McKay won all the children's hearts by his well directed talks to them. All the speakers bore powerful testimonies and delivered beautiful beauti-ful sermons. On Wednesday evening the girl friends of Miss Nellie Covey gave her a bundle shower, many useful use-ful presents were given her. Aldaray Serowther, Kva Thorn-ley, Thorn-ley, Ltivon Cragun. Almcda Serowther, Eliza Bingham,Sidona' PljOwman, Vera Plowman, Geor-genia Geor-genia Louder,Fcrn Neilson, Elsie Nielson, Rhodn Mcikle, Carl Snnth Laverna Pitcher, Ivy Covey, and Janette Seamons and Susie Hancey of ITydc Park wero present. On Saturday evening last a jolly crowd gathered at Alma Hillyard's commodious ranch home to celebrate in honor ofMrs. Hiillyard's birthday. A "o supper sup-per was spread, after which music, games, social qhat, etc, filled in and made a very pleasant evening. Tim crowd departed at a late hour, complimenting Mr. and Mrs.IIillyard for such hospi tality and the excellent entertainment. enter-tainment. Miss Sadie McCrackcn has been out of hchool the past week with the old cry of "Mumps.'.
