Show Odell Appointed Appoint-ed Again The press dispatches from Washington, Washing-ton, D. C, announce that the president presi-dent has reappointed Joseph Odell postmaster for this city. While Postmaster Post-master Odell had the unqualified endorsement en-dorsement ot Congressman Hqwell, It is understood the appointment Is made in accordance with the department's policy of reappointing presidential postmasters who have conducted their offices to the satisfaction ot the public and thedepaitment. In the report of tho first assistant postmaster general it Is shown that 05 per cent of the presidential .postmasters whose terms of office expired during the past year havo been reappointed because of efficient effi-cient service. There has been a marked growth in the postal business of the Logan office. In the first annual report submitted by Postmaster Odell for the fiscal year ended March 31, 1004, tho receipts were $12,054.21. Tho increase has continued steadily, and the receipts for tho year 1007 exceeded $10,000, an Increaso of about 40 per cent In four years. -Notwithstanding the heavy business done, Postmaster Odell has not found It necessary to enlarge the office force, but has, through his recommendations, recommenda-tions, rccured two additional ulty carriers, car-riers, thereby greatly improving the efficiency of the free delivery service, which now covers practically tho entire en-tire city. There has also been established estab-lished free rural delivery from the Logan Lo-gan office, giving a dally mail sorvico to those living on Provldcnco Bench, College and Orcenvllle. |
