Show 4 Big Time At Newton NEWTON, Feb. 6. This morning Is like a spring day, with "the beautiful" beauti-ful" covering the ground about six inches, which fell on the night ot the third Inst. Our Relict society held their annual meeting on the 3rd as follows: Mrs. ITannah Ilansen presided. Singing, "Guide Us," etc. Prayer by John H. Barker Sr. Singing, "Lo Tho Gentiles Chain is Broken." The annual report was then read by Secretary Elizabeth Funk, showing the amount ot money and labor donated, also their assistance rendered to the poor and missionaries, money In treasury treas-ury and wheat on hand, etc. The sister teachers gave report ot their visiting. The districts (nine In all) which wore all In a good and prosperous pros-perous condition. The following program was then rendered, conducted by Mrs. Bessie Ballard: ' ' Recitation, Mrs. Luoy Jenkins. Song, "Sometime, Somewhere," by Mrs. Lena Peterson and Mrs. Alice Jenkins. Reading, "Talk With Mothers," by Mrs. Annie F. Rlgby. The following thpn spoke and expressed ex-pressed their satisfaction in attending the meeting and listening to the program pro-gram and reports: Bishop M. 0. Rlgby, Rlg-by, 0. Chrlstenten, John IT. Barker and Niels Jacobson. Our society Is doing a good work and their labor is appreciated by the people. In the evening the society held Its annual party, which was fairly attended at-tended (considering the heavy downfall down-fall ot snow In the night). An enjoyable enjoy-able time was realized as well as a financial success. We have at present two families quarantined for meascls. |
