Show PRIDE ACCOMPLISHES WONDERS. As an cxamplo of what a little Ideality and energy can accomplish, the appearance of the W. R. Dewltt farm residence on the Blacksmith Fork Canyon road Is very striking. Though that farm Is quite a distance from either city or town and there seems little incentive to add the little trimmings that mean so much to the city property, It presents a much better bet-ter appearance than many Logan properties. The house is unpreten. tlous in size, but is ever nicely painted, the lawn is of considerable extent, nicely kept, and artistically arranged llowcr beds and shrubbery cause the place to present a truly excellent ex-cellent appearance. The Dewltts undoubtedly un-doubtedly get much pleasure from their surroundings, and it lsccitaln that this little llowcr garden gives the avcrago passer-by a thrill of pleasure. Tho point Is this If the Dewltts had no more prldo than some of their farmer friends all over the valley, in city and town and on farm, they too, would have no lawn, no (lowers, and a barbed wire or ramshacklo corral fence about their residence; they, too, would have a residence dry-rotting dry-rotting for lack of paint and their dwelling would be surrounded by a scrubby, Ill-kept grove and a lot of weeds and underbrush. Pleasant and Inspiring surroundings about any property can be secured by exercising a little energy at spare times, and at no great expense. Isn't It worth while? The Rki-uulioan rather likes the Idea of giving the farm a name; It not Infrequently serves as an Incentive to make that farm worthy of note In some particular particu-lar way. |
