Show RICHMOND IRRIGATORS IRRI-GATORS IN SESSION Kill Protest Against Certain Cer-tain Application. Other Matters of Interest in the Big Town. RICHMOND, July 15. 'A special spec-ial meeting of the Richmond Irrigation Irri-gation District stock holders was held in the court house Saturday night, fully 75 being present. Judge Rollapp, of Ogden, and Roy Eccles, of the LewistonSugar Factory, were present. The meeting was called to consider con-sider giving the sugar factory water from High Creek after Oct. 1st, but as an application for this water had just been filed with the state engineer, the meeting decided de-cided to protest against the granting grant-ing of the petition, and rto this end a committee consisting of C. Z. Harris, G. W. Thompson, J. I. Shepard, F. 0. Nelson, W. K. Burnham and G.. H. Nnylor were appointed to take care of the matter, mat-ter, while the two first mentioned will consult attorneys for legal advice. The next mcetirig will be held July 27th in the Court house, when an intersting time is expected. ex-pected. 0 I lP A real' estate deal was closed last week botwen JohnThomassen and Eli Webb whereby the former buys the lattcr's property onMain street adjoining the people's store It is said $20 per foot was the price paid, this being just double what 'this property brought about two years ago. Mr. Thomasscn will erect a store building on this piece and move his tin shop and hardware storo 'there. Miss Orvilla Merrill bid good bye to her many friends here last week before leaving for her new home at Garfield, where she will live with her brother, Dr. Preston Merrill. Miss Merrill intends ito spend the greater part of her time studying music, a talent in which sho is naturally gifted. Just lately thestork has left three bundles in town. All were ! girls, the first being at tho homo of Robert and Mrs. Tripp, the next at Juno and Ida Bair's whilo the latest was Monday afternoon at Louis and Julia Anderson 's.All concerned are reported doing fine. It looked as though Richmond was going to be visited by a new trouble, that of blood poisoning. However, the five cases which did apear have, under medical treatment, treat-ment, improved nicely and as no new ones have broken out during the past week, it is thought the trouble is now over. J. W. Funk and S. W. Hendricks Hend-ricks and wives spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday of last week in Salt Lake. They took a double annual bath inthe Lake, played nine pins, saw the sights of the city, transacted some business and had a glorious time in general. Melvin Harris, who sustained a badly mashed finger by having a crate of-condensed milk fall on it- while working in the condenser, conden-ser, is improving slowly. An amputation will no doubt be Unnecessary. Un-necessary. Material for Chas. Davenports' new salon building is being hauled, also the brick and stone for Christensen's while J. L.Burn-ham L.Burn-ham is actively working on the new tithing office building. Win, Merrill has been elected to succeed himself as school trustee for the next three years. The contest was very o,ne sided and little interest was taken in the same. Commissioner Godfrey was here last week urging, the work of repairing re-pairing our'county road. |
