Show Pocatello Valley. James Almond (formerly of Ilyrum), who has been down from Pocatello valley recently, reports that a well driven on the J. H. and J. II. Edwards ranch there Is now furnishing enough water for almost the entire valley. The woll was driven but 100 feet, and when through a fourteen inch strata of blue limestone an abundance of water was found. Tho Edwards have 300 acres or grain that looks very fine. Mr. Almond says that a well is to be driven on his ground In a very short time, and he is confident of getting water. According to his report the Pocatello valley Is progressing quite rapidly. Last year about 00,000 bushels bush-els of grain, was threshed there, but this year the grain 'will reach in the vicinity of 200,oqo bushels. Mayor Soren Hansen has Just invested In a $3,000 Kenwood gasoline engine and will take a separator to Pocatello valley to do tho threshing this year. Mr. Almond is quite enthusiastic ovor the outlook there this year. |
