Show I Society Event. Dr. and Mrs. P. A. Yoder were host and hostess at a large "at home" Saturday Sat-urday evening, tho alTalr being one of the hospitable ones for which the Yoder home Is noted. The Chemistry department of the A.C. of U. numbering num-bering nearly one hundred, were guests. Tho decorations for the oc-cation oc-cation were most beautiful. Patriot-Ism Patriot-Ism and icmlnlsccncesof "Old Glory" formed the basis for the decorations In tho library, where delicious punc.'i wasserved during the evening. The room was hung with Hags, junneis of red, white and blue, with red shaded lights. The dining room was not less boiutlful. Light blue and yellow were the colors used, llroad blue ribbons reached from the chandclers to tho four corners of the table where they were hild In place by bunches of yellow yel-low tulips. Orange sherbet was served from a large punch bowl in the cenU r of the table. Yellow tulips used asfaors. Tall vases of mai,uiues and ferns added to-thc atttactlveucss of the room. The artistic arrangement arrange-ment throughout the house called forth many words of approval from the guests. The early part, of the evening was spent In foimlng "compounds", "com-pounds", an unusual, novil and appropriate ap-propriate game, and later un "tuicil'iu sale" proved the crowning (eatuie of tho evening's enjoyment. Dr. and Mis Yoder were assisted in receiving by Prof, and Mrs. Stewart and Mr. Porter. The evening was not only the one event of the week, but decidedly de-cidedly one of the most successful oclal affairs of the year. |
