Show FARMERS' LOSS UNDER DEMOCRACY. The actual value of farm production's of the United States can never be told in accurate figures. The butter, eggs and poultry, fresh vegetables, fruits and melons and other articles which the farmer takes to the market seldom get counted in the general figures which footun the enormous sinus thnt arc ited to the producers of agricultural products. The little table given below shows the value of principal farm crops and; animals on farms in 1S92, 1S03 and 1890. It gives a hint as to the reduction in actual cash received by the farmer in the Democratic and low tariff period as compared with that received under protection and sound money and the. splendid home market which accompanied them. The figures show the value of the principal crops and of animals on farms-in farms-in 1S92, 1S95 and 1899, the fiual official figures for farm animals being January 1, 1900. The value of the wheat crop fell from 322,000,000 bushels in 1S92 to 237,-000,000 237,-000,000 in 1895, and returned again to 319,000.000 in 1899. The figures of this three-line table are a sufficient evidence that the general loss iu the three years of Democracy must have been not alone millions or hundreds of millions but actually billions of dollars. They are claiming tha state for MeKinley, after making allowance al-lowance for Democratic frauds to the-extent the-extent of twenty per cent. A grave responsibility rests upon the 1 young men of the nation who wnl this year cast their first vote for president, but all of the signs indicate that they will start right by voting for MeKinley. A Kentucky newspaper ventures the prediction that when the polls are closed next month it will be found that Colonel Bryan has been elected by "the silent vote." If this means anything, it must mean that the Colonel has talked the country to a standstill. |
