Show RESOLUTION Propoolnc n Amendment to Section V Article 13, of tlie Constitution. Be it resolved and enacted by the Legislator of the State of Utah, two-thirds of all member thereof concurring therein: Section 1. The following proposition to mend the Constitution of the Stats of Utah is hereby submitted to the qualified doctors ot the State lor their approval or disapproval, namely: That Section 8, Article 13. of the Constitution of the State of Utah shall bo amended to rua4 fts follows: Sec. . The Legislature shall provide by law a uniform and equal rate of assessment anil taxation on all property in the State, according to its value in money, and shall pre scribe by general law such regulations as shall secure a that every person and corporation shall pay s tax in proportion to the value of his. her or Its property: frovtiied, that a deduction of deMts from credits may be authorized: Frovlaed further, that the property of the United States, of the State, counties, cities, towns, school districts, municipal corporations and pubiio libraries, kits with the buildinss thereon U3e4 exclusively for either religious worship ot charitable purposes, and places of burial not held or used for private or corporate benefit, Ehall be exempt from taxation. Ditches, canals, reservoirs, pipes and flumes owned and used by individuals or ccr jorations for Irritating Irritat-ing lands owned by such individuals or corpora, tlons er the Individual members thereof, shall not be separately taxed so long as they shall be owned and used exclusively for such purpose. Provided further, that the taxes of the indigent poer may be remitted or abated at such time and in such manner as may be provided by law. See. 8.
