Show ON CONDITIONS. Some months ago the city of Platts-inouth Platts-inouth received an offer from an eastern east-ern firm to take five per cent, refunding refund-ing bonds of that city at par. The matter mat-ter was postponed to see if some better bet-ter offer could not be secured. The other night the council held a meeting to consider the new offer. There were none but the representative of the firm that made the five per cent, offer said that if still held good with this condition, condi-tion, that they would not take tho bonds until thirty days hence, and then should have the option to refuse them in case Bryan is elected president. The council, being Democratic, felt a little worried over the incident, but it undoubtedly illustrates the feeling of all money lenders. They know well enough that Bryan's election would make an end of low interest in the country. It will simply destroy business busi-ness confidence and put us back to the financial basis of '03-0(5.
