Oct. 29th, asking that it be cublished in the issue of Tuesday, the 30th. The Journal refused to da so : Logan, Utah. Oct. 28th, 1900. To the Editor of the Logan Journal. In your issue of Saturday Oct. 25th (27th)you were kind enough to make mention of me in the following follow-ing language: C. W. Nibley is exerting himself rowadayp, to induce people to vote for mcKinley, aod he uts most any old argument tbat is suggested. Lately he has been making himself the laughiog etocK of sensib e people, by relating that if iYlcKinley is reelected, a sugar factory will be' established in Logan wilhin a year, and that if Bryan shall be our next president, it wlU take tea ' years to get one in operation. We submit sub-mit this proposition iu Mr. Nible aod his coadjutors. It a sugar factory is ever built here, who will be looked to lor aid in tbia community; Democrats or Republicans? a Sugar " Factory here among our " I own people rather than to build one near Denver as we sortie time ago q contemplated doing. Only two j. things had to be cleared up first: . g one. Two weeks ago I had a meeting with the Presidency of Cache Stake and they promised to give this pro ject all the support they could in j the way of encouraging the farmers to raise beet '. So you ee-, Mr. . ' j Editor, it isu t all campaign talk. i These are facts actually accom- ; plished, preliminary work aireaay ; . done. iX As to your question "who would . we look to in Cache Valley to put f V- money in the enterprise?' 1 will ' I say. we would liki the good. will of all the people of Cache Valley regardless of politics and while we shall be willing for any person to 'take some stock, we do not need to solicit subscriptions, from anv one. i j K .s-djaow let me say, in cokc-Tit- 'vVfJolT "-- """ "r tth8 One the j ever littli '."l'Meteo led s ,rcialtroub eadei l.lKouth lildir mtor'" Ve believe that h will agree witn us l that in Logan and iu C iche county, there woulet be quite as mu;h Democratic money put into an mCKUtioa. of that kmd, as Republican money, and the probabilities are a great deal mare. Now Mr. Editor what I did say was that if McKinley should be reelected re-elected there was "an even chance - that a sugar factory would be built in Cache Valley within a year, but if Bryan should be elected the chances were ten to one against Cache Valley getting a stfacto 4. - t ,ph I- if i : m M rer ': ee vjl r, v( i; ' i n.Jportumty j a:;ste, offers I uhn that I Constitu-1 v ress before tgD on Sep-3' Sep-3' believe we i State anrf tba connur-in connur-in addition r be a Fec1-ingress Fec1-ingress has i place re-to re-to the point oration or- Xita to do inch a law. ;o declarerl in favor of tutiot thit to "destrjy Yet iu he le Judiciary before a providing nent which to regulate oted for it. blican in t'e p, but as it the Dsm-)- defest it.
