Show u Detachment of Utah National Guard Meeting Tonight Lt.' Col. Williams, Adjudant Gon-oral Gon-oral of Utah; Mayor W. W. Gordon, U. S. Army Instructor; and Major Hamilton Gardnor will bo tbo principal prin-cipal speakers at a mooting in tho High School Auditorium this evening for tho purposo at establishing In Lehl a headquarters detachment ot tho Utah National Guard. Somo timo ago tho proposition was mado to citizens of Lehl tbat If Lehl would furnish twenty enlisted men and two officers tbo Stato ot Utah would establish in Lehl a headquarters headquart-ers dotachmont. Tho dotachmont was to consist of two officers, thrco sergeants, four corporals, flvo first-class first-class privates and eight privates. Tho pay of tho, prlvatos was to bo f 1.1G per night of drill and tho others wero to rocelvo wages proportionately larger according to their rank. Tho dotachmont was to receive as equipment a radio receiving sot, telephone tele-phone buzzer and equipment to teach wireless, wireless lolophonoT' tolo grnph, signalling, figuring ot firing data and all other equipmont nocos-sary nocos-sary for a headquarters dotachmont. Four horses, two or threo motorcycles, motor-cycles, sldo arms and comploto uniforms uni-forms will bo furnished to detachment. detach-ment. Tha Lehl Business Club has given Its approval to the undertaking and are working to make It succetstul. At tho present time the movement seams certain of success. Practically tho entire twenty-two men has promised definitely to Join and with tho large number who have expressed their desire of Joining at the meeting meet-ing tonight It is believed that Lohl will bo successful In the undertaking. J. B. Watson, president and A. F. Galsford, secretary ot the Lehl Bust ' noss Club, will preside at tho mooting ' which starts at 7:30 tonight In tho High School Auditorium.
