Show Hal Hsmblln gains District All-star honors Hal Hamblin was the only member of the Southern Utah State College basketball team to make the NAIA District Seven all-star team. The 6-5 senior forward from Kanab, Utah averaged 12.4 points a game, and seven rebounds re-bounds per contest. Hal was an all-region player at Kanab High School and also starred lor Dixie College. He was selected to the all-district all-district second team along with Clarence Watson of Santa Fe, Tony Dusros of Regis, Eon Springer of Adams State and Dennis Kowalski of Western New Mexico. The first team consisted of Barnard Forrest, Grand Canyon Can-yon College; Ernie Signars, Western New Mexico; Bob Brooks, New Mexico Highlands: High-lands: Daw Simmons, Colo- rado Mines, and Glen Allen of Fort Lewis. Ben Lindsay, coach of Grand Canyon, was named District Seven coach of the year. |
