Drivers of each of the front two vehicles died when they crashed head-on. Utah Highway Patrol Photograph Two die in head-on crash site directions. In the Munphy van were seven pedigree dogs. Four of the dogs were also killed in the accident. A head-on collision one-half mile north of Parowan on VS. Highway 91 claimed the lives of two Californlans early Sunday Sun-day morning. Killed in the accident were Ellen H. Murphy, 51, of Pomona, Pom-ona, Calif, and Joe Welling Barlow, 49, San Bernardino, Calif. The accident occured at 8:35 a.m. A van, driven toy Mrs. Murphy Mur-phy was northbound. She apparently ap-parently attempted to slow down at the scene of an accident acci-dent that had previously happened hap-pened when 'her car skidded out of control across the road and hit head-on into the vehicle ve-hicle driven by Barlow. Each driver of the vehicles were alone and each was killed in-stantly, in-stantly, according to Trooper EIRoy Mason, who investigated. investigat-ed. Assisting in the investigation investiga-tion were Gordon Farnsworth and Roydcn Wllllaims. The earlier accident Involved Involv-ed a van driven by Harvey Howard Lutske of Los Angeles, Calif, who had overturned after af-ter skidding ojf the highway.
