Show Snow cuts Bryce Travel A total of 9,225 visitors entered Bryce Canyon National Park during March according to Superintendent Thorns O, Hobbs. This was a decrease of 30 percent from the same month last year. Heavy snow accumulations have limited access to some areas of the park. Snow depth is forty inches at the park entrance and eighty inches at Rainbow Point. The main overlooks at Bryce Point, Sunset Point and Inspiration Pont are open. The road from Bryce Point junction to Rainbow Point is closed and will probably not be open until the end of April or early May. Snowshoes are available at the Visitor Center from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily at no charge. Park campgrounds cam-pgrounds are closed and trails are hazardous due to ice buildup. Anyone planning off the road hikes should check at the' Visitor Center for current conditions. |
