Show Immunization Completed iv Through the diligent ef-i ef-i forts of many people, PTA ;: officers and other volun-i: volun-i: teers, an "Immunization :V Survey" has been completed for Iron County. It took ;: approximately 55 hours for volunteers tocall each grade ":: with hours totaling 350. In 1977-78 the first through sixth grades were surveyed under the direction of Mrs. Delia Farrow, the school nurse. Since Mrs. Farrow's retirement, the seventh through twelfth grade survey was completed under the School nurse and Mrs. LeFawn Robinson's direction. The goal of 90 percent adequate immunization was reached in Iron County and a real effort was made to encourage the parents of teenage children to properly immunize their children. Immunizations included : four doses of DTP or DT; three doses (oral) for polio; one dose for measles; one dose for rubella ; and one dose for mumps. Emphasis was palced on Rubella immunzation for teenage girls (with Dr.'s permission) and mump immunization for all teenagers. Special thanks go to the many volunteers, who participated to make the program a success. Volunteers include: those from Parowan under the direction of Mrs. Colleen Adams; those who covered the Cedar City Junior High School under the direction of Mrs. Rhea Church; those who covered the various grades at the Cedar City High School under the various direction of Mrs. Elva Nelson, Mrs. Bonnie Stapley, and Mrs. Janette Stack. |
