Show Noted Child Authority addresses UA ofW Dr. Elliott D. Laudau will be the featured speaker for the Utah Association of Women at a meeting to be held on April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the SUSC Recital Hall. Dr. Landau is Professor of Child : Growth and Development in the Department of Education at the University of Utah. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Child Development from New York University. He is a gradua te of the Bronx High School of Science in New York City. Dr. Landau is the author of many books concerned with the family and children. Dr. Landau is heard daily in Los Angeles, Salt LakeCity, New York City, Kansas City, Seattle and Idaho Falls on radio. He is also seen regularly on KSL-TV KSL-TV with Jackie Nokes on the 12:30 news. Dr. Landau was chairman of the Second District Juvenile Court Advisory Committee from 1967-71, and up until September, Sep-tember, 1975 was a member of the Board of Directors at large of Odyssey House of New York, a drug treatment facility with therapeutic centers in seven states. He is a member of the American Orthopsychiatric Association and the American Psychological Association. Dr. Landau was the founder and director of the Intermountain Conference of Children's Literature from 1960-1974. He has been an advisor to the Scott-Foreman Scott-Foreman Company, McGraw-Hill and numerous other publishing houses. In 1968, Dr. Landau was awarded the Distinguished Teaching Award at the University of Utah commencement. com-mencement. He is the author of many articls, monographs, and research matrials in the field of children's literature and child development. Dr. Landau is being sponsored in Cedar City by the Iron Mission Region of the Utah Associaton of Women. The UA of W is encouraging the public to attend this very worthwhile lecture free of charge. The UA of W was begun in November of 1977 by a tiny handful of concerned women in Salt Lake City. The organization now has a membership of 3,000 with 189 chapters . and 40 regions. The Iron Mission Region President is Ann B. Hansen with Wilma Petty and Norene Gray as vice pesidents, and Jan Harrison as secretary.
