Show Shoplifting Seminar for Merchants ' recognize potential shoplifters and taking proper action against suspected shoplifters. "Merchant concern is the key to stopping shoplifting," says Officer Holyoak, "and when all store owners decide they are tired of accepting shoplifting as a normal business risk something can be done about it." Ms. Green says the time has arrived in Cedar City to stop the problem. She says storeowners are concerned enough that they will coopeate in preventing, decreasing, and prosecuting incidents of shoplifting. The shoplifting seminar will be held this Thursday in the North Elementary School at 7 p.m. All interested in-terested persons are invited to attend. How to cope with shoplifting will be the topic of a meeting this Thursday for Cedar City merchants. The meeting is being held to help local retailers who have become concerned . with the current shoplifting problem in Cedar City are are anxious to curb their shoplifting losses. Tomi Green, a Main Street salesperson, is the originator of the seminar. She feels that shoplifters are stealing far too much from Cedar City stores and that retailers are finally arriving at a conclusion that they do not have to suffer such losses. Presentations at the seminar will be made by Tomi Green and Cedar City Police Department Crime Prevention Officer Craig Holyoak.
