Four boys who got points for Paro-wan Paro-wan in last weeks state Class ArB wrestling meet at Ilcber City: Right in first picture, Dale Northington, in second place; left in next picture, Jell Taylor, third place; left in third picture pic-ture Garv Jones, third place, and lar right in "final picture, Don Northing-Ion, Northing-Ion, fourth place winner. Parowan Wrestlers tie for fourth in Class H-B tourney at Wasatch A five-m.tn team of wrestlers wrest-lers from the Parowan High School traveled to Heber City last week to represent the school in the class A-B wrestling wrest-ling meet, and scored 26 points to end up in a tie for fourth place in the meet with the Morgan High School team. As expected, the powerful Uintah High team from Vernal, Ver-nal, took first place with 8G points; Delta High was in second sec-ond place with 74 and Union High of Roosevelt, took third, with 67. These scores were all hiph above the rest of the schools in eompetiion, but those school have been powerhouses pow-erhouses in the mat sport for many years, and all are big Class A schools. Of the five men Coach Lowell Low-ell Caldwell took to the meet, four of them placed in the lirst four in their weight, to garner the 26 points. The Ram matmen garnered one second place, two third places and one fourth in the meet which comprised over 100 matches, in the two days. Dale Northington in the 98 lbs. class, took second place. He won a decision from Niel-son Niel-son of Manti; decisioned Lind-lay Lind-lay of Morgan and was finally decisioned by Price of Uintah, in the championship bout, by a score of 2 to 1. Gary Jones, 107 lbs., in taking tak-ing third place, decisioned Wilkins of Uintah; lost to Gill-more Gill-more of Grantsville by a decision; deci-sion; won a decision from Jensen of Emery and then decisioned de-cisioned Romero of Morgan in an oveitime in his final match. Jeff Taylor, at 115 lbs., in taking third place, met and decisioned King of Piute in an overtime match; last in the second round to Broome of Uintah, who went on to become be-come the state champ in that weight. Taylor then decisioned rIager of Grantsville in an overtime. He went on to wres-lo wres-lo Jones of South Summit to win third spot. Don Northington first decisioned deci-sioned Buchanan ci" Richfield; lost his next match to Huber of Union (who went on to the championship) ; decisioned Leavitt of South Summit in rhe third round and then was decisioned by Romero of Morgan Mor-gan in the final round for his fourth place. Joe Williamson, a freshman in his first year of wrestling, found the going rather rough in the tough heavyweight division, di-vision, running into one of the best five heavyweights in the A-B ranks and lost his first match, to be eliminated from further competition, when the man he lost to, was defeated in his next bout. Making the trip with the squad members and their coach Caldwell, were Mrs. Caldwell and family; Mr. and Mrs. Veil Taylor, who assisted with transportation, and the four JV cheerleaders o, the school Ranon Ilermansen, Sheryl Guffey, Kalhy Robinson Robin-son and Janet Lamoreaux.
