Elton Stratton honored by veterans group Elton Stratton, veterans service officer for this area was the recipient of a special award in recognition for his efforts "above and beyond the call of duty." Stratton was presented a plaque by Leland S. Greger- ; on, National Service Officer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the recent Mid-Winter Convention of the Utah Department De-partment held in Cedar City. A native of Hurr.cane, Strat- , ton moved to Cedar City and : has made it his residence fori the past 23 years. He has been I an employee of the Employment Employ-ment Security office for 20 years. j In making the presentation of the plaque to Stratton, Gregerson noted that the Cedar Ce-dar City man had been instrumental in-strumental in handling (to satisfactory conclusions) a tremendous number of V. A. claims all varieties of V. A. benefits in different departments depart-ments of service. In 1969 Stratton alone handled hand-led over 230 claims and helped help-ed veterans in obtaining various var-ious benefits to which they and their families were entitled. en-titled. Stratton is a member of VFW Post 3510 in Cedar City and he vecehed the thanks of fellow members at the conference. |
