Officers of the Southern Utah Piano Teachers Association ready plans for regular meeting to beheld at SUSC Saturday. Satur-day. Selections for both four and eight hands as well as two piano numbers will be included. , Mrs. Loa Johnson is leading a committee appointed to select se-lect music for the festival. Parents who wish help in finding piano teachers for their children may . contact the Association by calling 586-6856 in Cedar City. Names of new teachers needing students stu-dents and teachers with available avail-able time may also register with the Association, the president pres-ident indicated. Association officers also point out that SUSC ha3 been including workshops in piano instruction in the summer school schedule to assist teachers as well as assist with certification. The organization meets once each two months to study piano pi-ano repretoire and receive help in piano instruction by qualified members and Mr. Campbell. Membership can be ! acquired by contacting any of the officers. Saturday May 13 members of the Southern Utah Piano Teachers Association will gather for a monthly meeting on the Southern Utah State College Campus. An organization that has been in existance for the past three years it was developed and materialized under the leadership leader-ship of Hal Campbell, member of the music staff at the college. col-lege. Presently the organization consists of 34 members from a broad area in southern Utah with representation from the communities of Circleville, Orderville, Or-derville, Kanab, Cedar City, Beryl and Parowan. The members mem-bers touch the lives of some 400 students in the area. Saturday's meeting will con-vene con-vene at 1:30 p.m. at the SUSC Music Building. Officers of the orgnization for the 1972 year are Mrs. Darol (Larene) Lamb of Orderville Or-derville serving as president with Mrs. Rodney, (Pamela) Orton of Cedar City as vice president. Mrs. Royce (Alene) Chamberlain, also of Cedar City Is secretary and Campbell Camp-bell serves as advisor to the group. The organization U affiliated affiliat-ed with the Utah Music Teachers Teach-ers Association which provides a criteria for certification for those music teachers willing to "go the extra mile in excellence." excell-ence." Early this year the Assoda-. tion sponsored a solo festival which brought approximately 200 piano students to the SUSC campus to perform and receive critiques.
