Show SUSC to host MAC Golf Meet in Las Vegas May 15-16 Golf teams from 15 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference colleges and universities will compete in the conference championship meet Monday and Tuesday (May 15-16) in Las Vegas. Southern Utah State will host the meet at the Paradise Valley Country Club, 7100 S. Lamb Boulevard. Teams competing include Fort Hays (Kansas) State College, Col-lege, Kansas State College (Pittsburg), Washburn University Univer-sity (Topeka, Kansas), Southern South-ern Colorado State College (Pueblo), University of Northern North-ern Colorado (Greeley), Adams State College (Alamosa, Colorado). Colo-rado). Other schools with entries are Colorado School olf Mines (Golden), Fort Lewis College (Durango, Colorado), Regis (Denver), Western State College Col-lege (Gunnison, Colorado), University of Nebraska at Omaha, Southern Utah State College, Westminster College (Salt Lake City), and Western New Mexico University (Silver City). The team winnner will be determined by the total gross score of each. team. Five golf, ers comprise a team, but only the lowest four scores of each 18-hole round will count. Each team will play 36 holes, 18 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday. An individual medalist award will also be made. Team favorite appears to be Colorado Mines, according to Brent Orchard, tournament director and SUSC golf coach. Adams State, Western State and University of Omaha will probably be prime contenders along with the Orediggers. Southern Utah State, which finished 14th out of 15 teams last season is looking for an improved finish, but probaibly will not be a first line contender conten-der for the championship.
