They won the championship and A Flights : of the Cedar City Amateur Golf tournament Sunday. Four communities represented in Cedar Amateur winners circb Bob Taylor of Las Vegas, Nev. walked off with top honors hon-ors In the Cedar City Amateur Golf tournament held at the Painted Hills Course in Cedar City Sunday. Taylor fired a 73 over the 18 holes of the tournament to capture the championship flight honors. One of the big surprises of the day, however, was the capturing cap-turing of the A Flight title by young Fred Wright, Jr., a 9th grader at Cedar Junior High School who came in with a fine 79 for net honors. Indicative of the tournament was the fact that top winners Salt Lake City losing the sudden sud-den death playoff to Roberts. In third Was Jim Wilson of Las Vegas, Nev. with a 67; Craig Hunter came in with a 72 and tieing !for fifth with 73's were Win Young and Steve Judd, iboth of Cedar City. -Three men tied for second place Un the A Flight gross division. di-vision. They included Ivan Rowley of Beaver; Qulnton Bowler and Dave Braigger of Cedar City, all with 8Ts. Fifth place went to John Simper of Salt Lake City with an 84. , Second iplace net In the A flight was Bruce Wilkin of Cedar City with a 64 followed by Bob Warnick, Salt Lake City, 66; Jim Edwards, Cedar City, 67 and Wayne Hardy, Beaver, 68. ; ,. - ' - In each category each represented repre-sented a separate community. Low Net winner flri the championship flight was Milt Roberts of Page, Ariz, who won a sudden death playoff over Dave Burger of Salt Lake City. They both came in with handi-cap handi-cap scores of 67. f '! However Charlie Bintz of Salt Lake City captured the low net title in the A Flight with a 63. J v i Three young people of Cedar City took second, third and fourth place honors in the net division of the championship flight. Larry LaFrentz fired a 75 for. second place; Kim Thompson had a 76, good for third place, and Jeff Cart shot a 77 for fourth place honors,.'
