Show "Family Reunion" Day Sponsored By Kiwanis Club The first annual observance of "Family Reunion Day" wiL be held Sunday, August 11, throughout the United State and Canada, according to Dar-ryl Dar-ryl Schramm, president of the Kiwanis Club of Cedar City. Family Reunion Day, which Is being sponsored jointly by Kiwanis International and Freedoms Foundation at Valley Val-ley Forge, is a program for all people, Schramm said. Its pur pose is to dramatize the family fam-ily as the keystone of nationa strength and morality, he add ed. The Cedar City club will recognize the national observance obser-vance with a special meeting to be held Monday, Aug. 12 at which members of the club and their families will gather for a specially prepared program pro-gram for the occasion. The observance calls for no formal nationwide program. Instead, it is hoped that individual in-dividual families will use Family Reunion Day to become be-come better acquainted; to "get the family up-to-date" on addresses, birthdays, anniver j saries, deaths, and significant events, and familiarize young i members of the family with sacred historical documents; and to emphasize the role of children as the heirs and potential po-tential leaders of the future. |
