Show M.I.A. Zone Slow Pitch Softball Meet Scheduled in Cedar Friday and Saturday Zone slow pitch softball tournament of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be held in Cedar City Friday and Saturday evening, ev-ening, it is announced by Keith Workman, director of the program. Four games will be played each evening of the two night affair and both senior and junior teams will participate, Workman stated. Games will begin at 6 p.m.' and the first round of play? has been anounced as follows;' 6 p.m.: Junior: Parowan-Stake Parowan-Stake against Cedar WesL 7:15 p.m.: Seniors: Cedafc Second of the Cedar West against Cedar First of th Cedar Stake. 8:30 p.m.: Juniors: Beaveif Stake against Cedar Tentrf Ward of the Cedar Stake. 9:45 p.m.: Seniors: Beaver Stake against Cedar West Stake. : Losers will meet in a consolation con-solation round Saturday and winners will meet to deter' mine the tournament champions champ-ions and the right to advance to the next level of tournament tourna-ment play, which is the re; gional competition. Winners of the regional level of play will advance to the all-church finals in Salt Lake City later this month. Slow pitch softball has grown in 'interest throughout the Church, Workman stated. In the game a pitch to the batter must have a three foot arch. The ball is larger than th3 regulation softball and the defensive team is allowed an additional player to compensate compen-sate for the additional activity activi-ty in the field. |
