Show Musicians Needed :or Women's Army Corps Band Young women musicians who would like the distinction distinc-tion of being members of the only all-women's band in the armed services were invited today to see their local Army recruiting representative, SGT Philip Rose, at Federal Bldg., 1 W. IN., Provo. He can provide pro-vide the details concerning enlistment for the 14th Army Band, a unit of the Women's Army Corps (WAC). "There are currently requirements re-quirements for the following Instruments: trumpet, French horn, tuba, clarinet, bassoon, saxaphone, percussion, and piano," he said. Now stationed at Fort Mc-Clellan, Mc-Clellan, Ala., often called a "mil.tary showplace," the band plays at military ceremonies cere-monies and civilian engagements engage-ments throughout the nation each year. In addition to regularly scheduled tours throughout the United States, the band has played In Presidential inaugural in-augural parades, at the New York World's Fair, numerous state fairs, and at many national na-tional attractions such as the 1 Kentucky Derby in Louisville. It has performed at the White j House. |
