The Iledmen, after suffering a loss to Kanab in their opening op-ening game, will host the Flyers Fly-ers Friday night in the Cedar High gymnasium. Tipoff time for the contest will be 8 p. m. It will be preceded by a preliminary pre-liminary game belween the junior varsities of the two schools. The meeting of the Redmen and Flyers is always a highlight high-light of the season for fans in the area and Friday's game takes on additional significance signifi-cance for Coach Dick Ilobbs and his Redmen as they face one of their loughest opponents oppon-ents of the season with fine loss already on their record. For Ihe Flyers they have a viclory to their credit with a home eourl victory over the Hurricane Tigers in their opening open-ing round of piny. In league com pel ion it will be the Redmen's first home game and the first road game for the Flyers. Coach Ilobbs has established establish-ed his starting crew fairly definitely, de-finitely, with only Kim Matheson Mathe-son as a question on the slart-ing slart-ing five. Matheson sustained a severe ankle injury in the opening op-ening minutes in the contest against the Cowboys. Possible starter in his place on the forward for-ward line will he Randy Clove. Other forward post will be filled fill-ed by Wayne Esplin willi Mike Pratt at the center slot and Wade Roberts and Dale Hatch on the guard line. The Flyers were paced in their victory over the Tigers by Milne with a 31 point output out-put and that was followed by Gentry with 18 and Seegmiller with 13. Coach Don Lay's crew from Dixie jumped out to a commanding com-manding 10 point lead in the first quarter against Hurricane and at one point led by as much as 20 points. It should be an interesting battle Friday with the Red-men Red-men facing a near must situation situ-ation if they hold hopes of repeating re-peating as the champions of the southern division of Region Re-gion eight. Kanab's trip to Enterprise also poses an interesting battle bat-tle which will wind up providing pro-viding an interesting comparison com-parison as to the comparative strengths of the strong divisional divi-sional race this season. |
