Show Mackelprang Bros. Killed On Arizona Ranch Two southern Utah brothers were killed on a ranch near the Utah-Arizona border on New Year's day and charges of murder have been filed' in Flagstaff, Ariz, in conncctfon with the deaths. Killed were William K. Mackelprang, Mac-kelprang, 42, and his brother Antone, 34. Being held in Flagstaff, after af-ter waiving preliminary hearing, hear-ing, was Mary Jane Brady, 40, who had lived on the isolated House Rock Valley ranch for the past 10 to 12 years. The shooting was apparently apparent-ly witnessed by Mrs. William Mackelprang, who walked four miles through snow and cold to report the incident at a ranger station in the area. Within an hour Mrs. Brady had been picked up near Flagstaff Flag-staff and was later bound over for trial in connection with the shootings. The two brothers had moved to Page, Ariz., several months ago and were waiting for Mrs. Brady to move from the ranch in order that they might occupy oc-cupy the premises, which was recently acquired by the Mackelprangs from their fa-therj fa-therj W. J. Mackelprang, who Is presently ill in a hospital in Kanab. Following the ordeal, Mrs. Mackelprang was hospitalized in Page suffering from exposure, ex-posure, shock and frostbite. The Mackelprang family has been prominent in livestock and ranching activities in southern Utah and northern Arizona. |
