Show Parowan Drops Game To Delta, Meets Millard Here Tonight The Parowan High School basketball bas-ketball team lost a big game last Wednesday night at Delta to drop out of a first place tie with Millard into a tie for third with the Beaver team, which took a win over the lowly Milford Tigers Ti-gers at Beaver on Saturday night. Delta went into a tie for first with Millard by winning two during the week, the one from Parowan and then a big one from Millard at Fillmore in a double overtime battle. The Parowan Rams went down to defeat at Delta by a 62 to 52 score after leading during the first three quarters and Millard was hard put to win from Milford Mil-ford that same night by 75 to 65 in a game that was close until the final quarter. Saturday night Delta went to Fillmore definitely definite-ly the underdog and after the regulation four quarters and two extra periods won by a 73 to 68 score. And the resurgence of Delta into its tie for first place, might be attributed to the return of Stan Hales to the lineup following follow-ing a football injury which kept him on the bench during the final games of the football season sea-son until this past week. Hales scored 18 points in Delta's win over the Rams and 20 points in the Delta win over Millard as well as taking over as playmak-er playmak-er for the Rabbits. Last Wednesday Coach Charles Brinkerhoff's Rams took a 16 to 11 first quarter lead, were ahead 27 to 25 at halftime and then dropped into a 43- all tie at the third quarter rest. Then Johnny Guffey,, who had played good defensive ball and added 12 points to the Parowan score, fouled foul-ed out as the final period got under way and Delta took the initiative to hit 19 points to 9 for the Rams to win by 10 Parowan was only outscored by one field goal, 21 to 20 but Delta hit for 20 out of 30 tries from the foul line to Parowan's 12 for 21 to make the difference.
