Show Ouisids Shooting Pays oil lor T-Bkds In 99 to S3 Win Over Westminster Three of the College of Southern South-ern Utah TauiidcitHi'ds hit in tne 2Us Saturday night to lead tne way to a 9;J to i)3 victory over Westminster College of Salt Lane City. Leading the way was guard Ruber CUif who tanned 2(i points, followed by Al Dee Konopmcki with 22 and Hod Oliver with 21. 1 Two others were in doubles figures, fig-ures, including Mel Wadsworth with 11 and John Johnson with 10. High scorer for the evening, however was Murray of the Parsons Par-sons with 29 points. Murray hit better from the field than he did from the toul line, when he connected con-nected on 11 of 20 attempts from the field and hit only 7 of 14 from the charity stripe. The Parsons threw up a zone defense against the T-Birds that lasted until the final three minutes min-utes of play when the game was broken open. It was a see-saw battle throughout through-out the first half of play with neither team gaining an inch at the intermission when the score was tied at 38-all. Four points was the biggest spread of the entire en-tire first half and both teams held that advantage at various Doints. were .set down when they got into in-to foul trouble. It was al this point that Cuff sparked the offensive of-fensive attack to keep the T-Birds in the contest and eventually moved them back into the lead and the final victory. In one stretch Cuff scored eight consecutive consecu-tive points for the T-Birds. After dropping behind 50 to 45 the T-Birds fought to tie the score at 5G-all to resume the seesaw see-saw battle with the Parsons. One of the factors in the Parsons' favor fav-or were the number of two and one situations that totaled eight during the course of the game and the three point opportunity was converted five times. Midway into the second half the T-Birds pulled out too a substantial sub-stantial lead, moved on out to a 10 point margin at 95 to 85 then coasted on to the victory in the final five minues of play. The outside shooting of Oliver and the work of Konopnicki under un-der the bucket kept the T-Birds in the battle through the first half of play, as they matched bucket for bucket with the Parsons. Par-sons. Lead actually changed hands 10 times during the first half and was tied on 11 different occasions.
