In preparation for a public hearing on phoposed highway developments through Cedar City to be held tonight, the board of director of the Chamber of Commerce Com-merce Tuesday adopted a resolution re-solution stating the organization's organiza-tion's stand on the highway problem. pro-blem. The resolution was adopted following a general membership meeting of the Chamber held Monday evening at the North Elementary school. The resolution adopted by the board proposes that there be a four-lane highway constructed from the Interstate 15 interchange South of the City though the city to the interchange North of the city; that proper access for existing ex-isting businesses be furnished by the state; and that proper protec-tion protec-tion be provided for future devel opment of property with needed highway access. The resolution was adopted un-animously un-animously by the board of directors. direct-ors. Wide differences of opinion were expressed during the meeting meet-ing Monday evening, with owners own-ers of property inside and outside of the city limits, expressing their views. These views varied from the proposal that the matter be controlled solely by the city and county, without state assistance or state control, to the proposal finally adopted by the board. Owners of property outside the city limits seemed unanimously opposed to limited, or in some cases, any access control of the highway in question.
