Show NEWS NOTES FROM PAR AG ON AH Mrs. Hilma Lamorecrux The long Labor Day week end was the occasion for many people peo-ple to travel home to visit or take trips. The Bow and Arrow deer hunting season added an extra attraction to the holiday and a number of people were engaged en-gaged in the sport Mrs. Viola LeFevre and four children of Salt Lake City were here from Saturday to Monday for a visit with the Asa Topham family. Mr. and Mm. Thomas Abbott and their three children of Murray Mur-ray were in town visiting with Tom's mother, Mrs. Myrtle Abbott Ab-bott and other family members. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lamor-eaux Lamor-eaux were here from Henderson, Nev., for the week end. They visited vis-ited with relatives here and in Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Engle-stead Engle-stead were here for the weekend. On Sunday they traveled to Pan-guitch Pan-guitch to attend the Golden Wedding celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Worthen. Mrs. Gwen Jones accompanied them on this trip. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Barton are enloyinz having their grand daughter, Sherry Lynn Deil of Tooele, with them. Miss Deil Is attending school at Parowan and plans to spend the winter here with her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Orton and two children of Salt Lake City spent last week here visiting with Mrs. Orton's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Barton. Elwln Talbot and two older children were here from Salt Lake City for the week end. Gordon Manzlone arrived nere from Provo In time for the week end festivities. He took his family fam-ily back home again following a week's stay here. Reed Thornton and Stanley Gurr were here from El Cajon, California, for a week end visit with the Earl Thorntons. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Walker and two sons and Mrs. Eliza Owens of Cedar City were here to spend the week end with Mrs. Eda Thornton. Bob Talbot came from Salt Lake City to be with his folks, the Orson Talbots, for tlie week end. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Thornton were here from Salt Lake City to spend the week end with Gerry's parents. Billy Edwards was here from Salt Lake City for a week end with his mother, Mrs. Olive Edwards. Ed-wards. He was accompanied by Dale Robinson, who is working In that area, and came home for a visit with his wife. Mr. and Mrs. Don Barton arrived ar-rived home late Sunday follow-Ing follow-Ing a week's vacation trip. They had visited In Anderson, Calif, with Fred and Audrey Hatch, and then toured through some of the Redwoods and down the coast. Mi. M.S. Lrgrande Leigh of Orfdcri were here for the holiday holi-day week end. They visited with Jones family and with other relatives re-latives here and in Parowan. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Don Field, also of Og-den. Og-den. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rock-ham Rock-ham and children were over-"'St over-"'St guests of Mr. and Mrs. Revere Re-vere Robinson Thursday. Mr. Rockham, a nephew of Mrs. Robinson, Ro-binson, was recently released from the Air Force and was returning re-turning to his home In Ogden from his base In Tucson, Ariz. Anna and Arnold Mellor of Provo were In town Sunday to Thursday of last week visiting with Mrs. Mellor's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Talbot. Mrs. Myrtle Abbott has received receiv-ed word that her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul But-terfield, But-terfield, have returned to Utah after several years In Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Edwards and their children have gone to Cedar City to make their home. Mr. Edwards plana to attend school at CSU this winter. Mr. and Mrs. Wlllard Lunch were happy to have a number of their family here with them last week end, although the holiday holi-day started out badly for some of the group. Miss Norma Lund and her fiance were coming from iSpringville Friday when they, they were hit head on by another an-other car in Kanosh. Both young people suffered from shock and were hospitalized until morning. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Watters and family, also of Sprlngvllle, arrived ar-rived Friday and Sunday the Norman Lund family came from Cedar City to Join the group. Mr. and Mrs. Will Robb received receiv-ed word last week of the birth of a new grandchild, a boy born Aug. 31 to Bob and Patricia Christiansen of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Robinson and daughter, Mrs. Anna Ga-nung Ga-nung and Mrs. Leta Evans, enjoyed en-joyed a nice trip on Friday of last week. They traveled to St. George to visit Mr. and Mrs. Job F. Hall and to Enterprise to visit with members of the Ivor Clove family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thornton were In Cedar City Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Robb traveled to Salt Lake City the first of last week planning to attend at-tend the funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Doll Dalley Monday. However Mrs. Robb had the misfortune mis-fortune to fall and break her wrist while shopping so they were forced to visit a doctor instead. in-stead. Kenneth Topham arrived home last week end after spending spend-ing the summer at Bryce Canyon. Jim Talbot left for Camp Williams Wil-liams Sunday to attend a three week encompment for engineering engineer-ing students before - beginning school at the University of Utah. Mike Lamoreaux was home from Salt Lake City for the holiday hol-iday week end. Mrs. Dorotha Barton and her three sons came from Orderville Friday for an overnight visit with the John C. Barton family. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Wil-lard Wil-lard Lund was the scene of a lovely trousseau tea on Sunday afternoon when Miss Norma Lund displayed her linens and handwork to ladies invited to call. Dainty refreshments were served. |
