Friday evening to eKe out a o to M) point victory in tiieir final pre-league appearance. Coacn bruce lh.Cj-er lh.Cj-er gave tne starting call to Keeu Heywood, Jon Isom, Kay Lnd-, sley, royd Dover and Lric Gard-j ner. Trailing by three, 41 to 38, go-1 ing into the final quarter ui. Kedmen employed a full oourt press that was most etfective against the Gunnison Bulldogs. Lndsiey opened the scoring in the final eight minutes hitting two free throws and Heywood put the Redmen Into a one-point lead, with a bucket with less than a minute of the quanei played. Gregerson retaliated with a field goal to put the Bulldogs Bull-dogs in the lead and Dover sank a beautiful left hand hoop shot to put the Redmen back In front 44 to 45. A running hook by Coates of Gunnison gave his team the lead again and Ray Bauer came In for a short Jump shot to put the Redmen to the advantage, an advantage they maintained. With a full court press In operation op-eration Gardner was instrumental instrumen-tal with two stolen balls, to put the Redmen Into a five point lead. Gardner stole the first pass and fed to Heywood for an easy layup and with Gunnison attempting at-tempting to move into forecourt Gardner stole another pass and moved to a 3 for 1 situation with Dover scoring on a Jump shot. Leading by five, 50 to 45, the Redmen began a stall and on two wild passes fouled in attempting jto recover the ball. Both fouls were against Hill and he sank three in four attempts to move within two points of the Red-men, Red-men, 43 to 50.
