Show Higbee to Save Sight Following A Hunting Accident Dick Higbee, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Higbee, was seriously injured in a hunting accident Mew Year's Eve, but is reported to be recovering quite satisfactorily. satisfac-torily. Young Higbee was hunting rabbits at the Clark ranch near Rush Lake when a new gun he was using exploded, blasting Into In-to his face and seriously injuring his right eye. After treatment in Cedar City he was rushed to Salt Lake City where It was found that copper from the shell had penetrated his eye, and it ha not yet been determined whether or not he will lose the sight ol the eye. However, doctors nrfl hopeful that the eye can be saved. The left eye was not seriously ser-iously injured. The young man Is recovering rapidly other than for the condition con-dition of his eye, and is expected to return h"rie Pjnday, according accord-ing to word received by his grandfather, Edwin R. Higbee. It is reported that the force of the explosion shattered the stock of the gun completely. |
