Show Officers for ICBil Named -New League Formed Bob Cormani was elected president presi-dent of the Iron County Bowling Association (ICBA) at a recent; meeting- of the organization. He will succeed Eldon "Bunny" Fullmer Full-mer as president and will serve for the 1960-61 bowling year. Other officers Include Ernie Humphrey, who was re-elected as vice president and Al Thompson, Thomp-son, renamed as secretary and treasurer. Board members will be Fullmer and Humbert Rosenberg Ros-enberg and presidents of the winter leagues which are now being formulated. ICBA was formed a year ago so that bowleis in Iron County could be affiliated with the American Am-erican Bowling Congress (ABC) and have leagues sanctioned by the ABC. The main function of ABC is to itjsinta!'! ! hlili stan dard of sportsmanship. ABC also requires that bowling establishments establish-ments meet certain specifications and requirements that make the game the same throughout the world. It becomes the duty of the ICBA to enforce certain rules and regulations and see that any and al bowling establishments meet the ABC standards. Cedar Bowling Lanes recently resurfaced their lanes to insure conformance to ABC standards and to keep them at their very best for the bowlers, according to Humbert Rosenberg, manager. Bowling Lanes further require that the bowlers do not take food or beverages into the bowler settee area or set food or drinks on the scoring tables. Street shoes and gym shoes are also prohibited in this area, according to Rosenberg. The management has asked the cooperation co-operation of patrons in observing these regulations. Winter leagues got underway at the Cedar Bowling Lanes this week with 10 leagues ready to roll. Six of these leagues are men's and four have been organized organ-ized for the ladies. At the present pre-sent a Mixed Doubles league is being : formed and - there .are a few openings for new teams, it was stated. Teams in this lea-I lea-I gue are made up of two men and two women. J Open bowling will still be available on Saturday and Sun- day and from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. and open bowling will also be available on most of the lanes from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on week days. Reservations for lanes can be made at any time during the1 day. Telephone reservations will be limited, however, Romberg' said. |
