' J; Mr. and Mrs. Wendall Holmes Holmes Newlyweds Honored at Open House En route to EI Paso, Tex., where they plan to make their home for the coming two years, are newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Turner Holmes. The new Mrs. Holmes Is a daughter of Mabel Corry and the late Oliver Davis, former Cedar City residents. She is a graduate of the Telta High School and has also attended a modeling school in Salt Lake Cl:y. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry F. Holmes of Cedar Ce-dar City. He graduated from Cedar Ce-dar High School where he was popular as an outstanding athlete. ath-lete. He also attended College of Southern Utah and the University Uni-versity of Utah where he majored major-ed in mathematics. After a two-week honeymoon in southern California the newlyweds new-lyweds greeted guests at an open house reception held In their honor at the home of Mr. and Mr.s Frank Holmes of Cedar City, Saturday Sat-urday evening. Receiving guests at the open house werv Robert, Frai.k and Louise Holmes. Atending the bride was Mrs. MacKay Davis, sister of the bridegroom and acting as best man was MacKay Davis, brother of the bride. Ushers were Tom Seegmiller, Richard Reed and Bruce Holmes. Flower girls were JoAnn Reed, Kaye and Janice Holmes. In charge of the gift room was Mrs. Robert Holmes assisted by Janet Parry, Carolyn Reed and Ann Holmes. Helping Mrs. Alvln Bradshaw In the kitchen were Charlotte Reed and Myrtle Seegmiller. Music throughout the evening was heard and Gary Smith sang "Melody of Love," accompanied at the piano by Bishop E. Lynn Reed. |
